2016 - 2017

Marching Band
  • “Seasons of Love” featuring the music of Copland’s “Appalachian Spring,” Vivaldi’s “Summer” from “The Four Seasons,” Whitacre’s “October,” and Rutter’s “Gloria.”

  • 6th place overall at BOA, 3rd in Class AA, BOA Jacksponville State University

  • 4th place overall, 2nd place in Class AAA, McEachern Marching Invitational

  • 19th place overall, 4th place in Class AA, BOA Atlanta Super Regional

Concert Band
  • Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band– Performs at Music For All Southeastern Regional Concert Festival at Georgia State University—one of only 8 featured high school performances, only school to have 2 bands accepted

  • 22 students made District Honor Band

  • 20 students made the 2nd round of All State auditions

  • 6 students accepted to the Georgia All-State Band

  • 1 student accepted to the National Honor Band of America

  • 17 students accepted to the UGA January High School Music Festival

  • Straight Superior Ratings (all bands) at LGPE

  • Jazz Band Straight Superior Ratings at Jazz LGPE

  • Wind Ensemble invited to perform at the 71st annual Midwest Clinic in Chicago, IL

2015 - 2016

Marching Band
  • “WindWorks” featuring the music of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” Barber’s “Medea’s Dance of Vengeance,” Bach’s “Air” and Torke’s “Javelin”

  • 1st place overall at Milton High School White Columns Invitational.  Outstanding Music, General Effect, Color Guard, Drum Majors in Class AAA

  • 1st place overall, Grand Champion in Gold Division, 1st in class at Sprayberry Southern Invitational. Outstanding Music, General Effect, Visual, Color Guard, Percussion, and Drum Majors in Class

  • 4th place overall, 1st in class at BOA Jacksonville State University Regional, Outstanding Music and General Effect in class AA

  • Percussion Ensemble – Performs at Percussive Arts Society International Convention in San Antonio, TX

Concert Band
  • Wind Ensemble – Performs at Georgia Music Educators Association Conference in Athens, GA—one of only 4 featured high school performances

  • 22 students made District Honor Band

  • 18 students made the 2nd round of All State auditions

  • 7 students accepted to the Georgia All-State Band

  • 1 student accepted to the National Honor Band of America

  • “Keep It Simple” featuring the music of Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring,” John Adams’ “Short Ride in a Fast Machine,” J.S. Bach’s Prelude from “Cello Suite No. 1,” and Leslie Bricusse’s “Pure Imagination”

  • 3rd place overall (1st in class) at Milton High School White Columns Invitational.  Outstanding Music, General Effect, Color Guard, Drum Majors in Class AAA

  • 2nd place overall, Grand Champion in Gold Division, 1st in class at Sprayberry Southern Invitational. Outstanding Music, General Effect, Visual, Color Guard, Percussion, and Drum Majors in Class

  • 8th place overall, 1st in class at BOA Jacksonville State University Regional, Outstanding Music in class AA

  • “Hunted” featuring the music of Prokofiev’s “Alexander Nevsky,” music from Final Fantasy, and music from “The Bourne Supremacy.”

  • 9th at BOA Powder Springs

  • 9th at WCU Tournament of Champions

Concert Band
  • 24 students made District Honor Band

  • 6 students made GA All-State

  • 12 students went to UGA “JanFest”

  • Percussion Ensemble 1 and 2 performed at the Bands of America National Percussion Festival

  • Rashaad Greene made National Honor Orchestra of America and was named as a 2014 Young Arts Scholar

  • STAR Student of the Year – Bonnie McLean

  • STAR Teacher of the Year – David Roth

2012 - 2013

Marching Band
  • “Reflect” featuring the music of David Gillingham’s “Stained Glass,” Eric Whitacre’s “Cloudburst” and music from “The Dark Knight” by Hans Zimmer

  • 8th place overall at BOA Jacksonville State University (2nd place, Class AA)

  • 2nd place overall at WCU Tournament of Champions (1st in class, 2nd place DM, 3rd place CG)

Concert Band
  • Wind Symphony performed at JanFest (January 2013)

  • 19 students made District 12 Honor Band

  • 3 students made GA All State

2011 - 2012

Marching Band
  • “Barriers” featuring the music of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” and David Gillingham’s “With Heart and Voice.”

  • 2nd place overall at BOA Jacksonville State University (2nd place, Class AA)

  • 2nd place overall at McEachern Invitational (1st place in class AAA, High Percussion and Drum Major Awards)

  • 15th place overall at BOA Atlanta (3rd place, Class AA)
